With hives all over London producing award-winning honey, Bermondsey Bees is one of 2017’s ‘top 10 food producers’. Meet the team! Hear the stories! TASTE THE HONEY!

TUESDAY 19TH September

In conversation with Miranda Sawyer (FREE to members, £5 non-members)

Miranda Sawyer headshot

Join us for an evening with Observer columnist, author, and Brixton mum; Miranda Sawyer.

Miranda’s recently published novel, ‘Out of Time’, has been described as ‘a funny and insightful look at midlife, showing a searing honesty’. We read it and having laughed, shuddered and gasped, ultimately concluded that it should be required reading for all women planning to live past 40…

We can’t wait to hear more about Miranda’s experience, bank all her top tips, and salve our growing anxiety with huge mouthfuls of cake.

Mad for Macrame (£5 members, £10 guests)

Macrame hangers with plants

Our resident crafter and Macrame Madame, Gillie, will be at the helm as we all embark on a hair-raising voyage from string to stylish planter in 1.5 hours. Deftly navigating our tumultuous nerves and clumsy thumbs, she will steer each of us to the sandy shores of hanging-plant heaven.

We can’t wait to get knotting. Indeed, we’ve had a little go and can promise you it is easier than it looks!

The Magic of Brockwell Park: Dusk picnic and guided nature walk (free to members, £5 guests)

Bats in front of moon

Join us for an after-hours nature walk, picnic and bat spotting adventure in Brockwell Park.

Our guide and wildlife expert, Daniel, will be giving us the low-down on all things nature, focusing on woods, birds, bats, bugs and mushrooms. Daniel works for the London Wildlife Trust and works tirelessly to protect and enhance local wildlife and wild places.

We will start the evening with a light picnic tea in the park. Please bring something tasty to share and a blanket to sit on if you can (remember, whatever you bring, you will need to eat or carry with you around the park :)). Did we mention we have KEYS TO THE PARK? We do! And we’re going to use them!

Please meet in the park – NOT AT THE PRINCE REGENT. We will be gathering on the grassy slope behind the Lido. IF IT RAINS we will meet in the Prince Regent for a nature talk instead – please check email and facebook for updates on the day.

Bracelet-making with The SewCial Circle (£5 members, £10 guests)
