November = Wreath making magic

Getting ahead of the silly season, we got started early by making our own winter wreaths.

In advance of this crafty session, the Committee made several early morning trips to Covent Garden flower market to stock up on eucalyptus and air-dried oranges (really! lots!).

The room was filled with foliage and following a quick demonstration of ‘a few we made earlier’, Brockwell Park WI’s crafty crew set about wreath making magic.

October = wine tasting = fun!

This month we were joined by David Round, Master of Wine, for an informative and enlightening evening of wine tasting.

David gave us some practical tips for wine tasting such as how to assess it’s appearance, smell, taste and finish. We then tasted a range of five wines including two white wines, two red wines and a sweet wine.

A thoroughly enjoyable wine-filled evening, with the added benefit of learning!
