T’ai chi chuan is a gentle form of exercise with strong emphasis on mental and physical relaxation. When our mind and body relaxes a natural healing process can commence.
In our session we will do a short warm up with a few Qi gong, stationary breathing and movement exercises that will energise as well as relax the body.
We will learn a few movements from the first part of the Yang style, long form Tai chi ch’uan . This will give you a taster of what is involved and how it feels to be moving connected to your natural breath. The combination of mindful body awareness and movement synchronised with our breath helps release physical tensions. Which then transforms that tension into free flowing energy around the body which improves our circulation of blood to our major organs.
You don’t need any special equipment to do Tai chi, just loose comfortable clothing, flat shoes and some water to stay well hydrated.
Anna is always very aware of her participant’s health and will ask if you have any problems. There will be a participation form to complete on the night. If you have health problems that mean you need to see a doctor before doing exercise, you can ask them to complete a doctor’s approval form.
8pm at the Prince Regent Pub.
